when we think of our childhood
and the toys we played with,
we realize how much they defined us...
luckily, many of them are still around...
others have disappeared, no longer made,
only allowing us to describe to today’s generations
what they were...
they have become COLLECTIBLES...
highly desired by those of us craving to recapture our childhood memories
over the years, we have acquired some of these collectibles
from throughout the country,
going into old dusty barns and warehouses,
“mom & pop” store closings, and
many miles on “back country roads”...
some are new, in the original packaging
we call them “new-old stock” (NOS)
below are some of the collectibles we currently have
for collectors and die-hard fans:
siren whistle rings
remember these?
adjustable metal rings that were both functional and decorative...
one side with a design and the other side a whirling whistle...
from the 1950s
original packaging, made in taiwan
we find that people sometimes buy two...
one to put away, the other to use...
we always advise using a drop of vegetable oil to keep the whistle whirling...
skate keys
original metal keys from the chicago skate company
we love to watch people choose their key...
some want a shiny one, others want one with a touch of rust...
most tell us they are hanging it around their neck on a shoelace!
punks
we thought we were so “cool” when we lit up
these long brown sticks
with the glow at the end...
and who could forget that distinct aroma...

these are from the 1960s
original packaging and string, metal tips, approx. 3”
